Our hosts, Polly, Ted & Praline Stoney

The Low Country Chapter Annual Meeting and sporting clays shoot was held once again at Kensington Plantation on the Cooper River.

We would like to thank Chapter Members, Ted & Polly Stoney, for inviting the Chapter back to their beautiful plantation.  The Stoneys have hosted this event at Kensington for the last several years.  Kensington Plantation is a wonderful place to relax with friends and enjoy an afternoon of challenging shooting on Ted's sporting clays course.

The course this year was especially challenging.  Ted had a number of oscillating traps spread over shooting stations scattered around the marsh.  The shot presentations were very realistic and made even more challenging by strong winds.

Chris Thomas was the only shooter who consistently hit the tough crossing targets on this station.

Following the sporting clays shoot, a brief meeting was held at the Stoney's cottage.  Their quaint cottage was originally an old 1 room schoolhouse that Ted and Polly moved to the plantation and tastefully decorated with photos, artwork and hunting trophies from around the world.  The cottage is in a spectacular setting nestled among centuries old live oaks overlooking the marsh and the Cooper River.

Colonel Hodges was chauffeured around the course by Jim McLain in his new Kubota ATV

Chapter President Chris Thomas presided at the Meeting where new Chapter Officers were elected.  David Crosby was elected the new Chapter President, and Chris Thomas will be the Chapter's new Treasurer.

Following the Meeting a delicious Frogmore Stew was served accompanied by a tomato & basil salad and freshly baked rolls.  Our thanks to Bohicket Barbeque for the great meal!

After dinner we enjoyed cigars and drinks while sharing stories of recent hunting adventures.  It was a fitting end to a great day of sport and camaraderie in a magnificent Low Country setting.
