SCI National's Sportsmen Against Hunger Program
The Low Country Chapter will make several Sportsmen Against Hunger food drives each year. The time and the location of the collection points will be announced in advance on the Schedule of Events page of this website and notices will appear in the Charleston newspaper. In addition to the periodic food drives, Sportsmen can drop off food donations at the office of Chapter Member, Dr. Will Youngblood. The Chapter purchased a freezer and Dr. Youngblood has kindly agreed to install it in his office and receive donations on behalf of the Chapter's Sportsmen Against Hunger Program at any time during his regular office hours.

FOOD DRIVE HUGE SUCCESS SPORTSMEN AGAINST HUNGER Over 1000 pounds of meat was collected during our "clean out your freezer" food drive. The Crisis Ministries has suffered recently from budget cutbacks and the donated food will help them tremendously. Besides the meat collected, the Crisis Ministries collected over $ 7000.00 in cash donations. Crisis Ministries Director, Rebecca Riner-Benz, attributes the cash donations to the publicity generated by the food drive. Board Member and Sportsmen Against Hunger Chairman Clint Lemon deserves all the credit for making this worthwhile project such a success. Clint worked closely with The Crisis Ministries to plan and conduct this successful food drive. Special thanks to Clint and fellow Board member Will Youngblood, who manned the collection points. Thanks also to Board member Jim McLain, owner of Signature Kitchens and Baths, and Mike Able of Haddrell’s Point Tackle and Supply for donating the use of their business locations for collections points. VENISON DONATIONS Board member Clint Lemon is busy recruiting venison processors to take part in our Sportsman Against Hunger program. Hunters will be able to donate their harvested game at participating processors and The Low Country Chapter of SCI will pay the processing fees and insure that the meat is distributed to local charities. Clint is also working to secure local drop off points where hunters can drop off frozen game at Charleston area business locations. Please keep these programs in mind and help a great cause. Participating processors and drop off locations will be announced soon. For more details contact Clint at 843-296-2496..
